Nurses unable to take blood or insert cannula. Subjected on two occasions to one hour of repeated unsuccessful attempts. One nurse would try for 30 minutes, fail and then another would come in and fail for 30 minutes. At one time two nurses unsuccessfully jabbing both arms. Very traumatic and unacceptable.

Suggested improvements
Nurses should recognise when there is a problem. They should not make repeated unsuccessful attempts. They should refer to a better qualified nurse or a doctor.

The admissions team seemed very effective and proficient. Good ability to call in needed specialists
