The nurses (except for a single one) were brilliant-kind, caring and professional.
But the surgeons were extraordinary. Professor Mughal’s care is beyond words. He is both brilliant and the most empathetic doctor I have ever met. I felt so safe with him, through three operations and endless tests. Also, I would like to mention my other incredible surgeon, Mr. Monk. They both took time to talk to me every day with such kindness and understanding of the painful situation I was suffering. Their gentle care really kept me going for the weeks I spent at the Cleveland.
Suggested improvements
The kitchen didn’t understand how to provide me with a nutritious and edible liquid diet. Almost every day, my husband had to bring in soup and fruit smoothies to keep me going. I did ask the chef to make a vegetable soup for me, with instructions once, and that was delicious, but it was only once. I think they need to work more closely with the doctors to understand specific care needs of patients.
See my answer above. Plus, the surgeons always explained every detail of my treatment and surgeries and kept me informed about my recovery.
