Excellent medical team (Dr Vashisht?Prof Cohen) which is the main reason or choosing Cleveland Clinic
New, spacious, fresh building with state of the art equipment
Individual care
Suggested improvements
I stayed in one of the decompression rooms, which turns out to be quite noisy with alarm bells always going on when doors are opened. Also the flaps in the ventilation grate make an inconsistent noise which disturbs sleep.
The doors also proved to be really difficult for kitchen staff carrying trays in and out of the room.
All the nursing staff are wonderfully caring and encouraging, but I felt that overall they were all young and inexperienced in a new work environment for the whole team as it only opened 6 months ago. I missed like a 'Matriarc', a mother figure leading her team. Compared to King Edward VII where I have had procedures before, it was a more business like experience.
And as an observation, it is striking that all the nursing/cleaning/reception staff are predominantly foreign, which sometimes causes a bit of a barrier in language, even if it is ever so subtle, to understand or be understood, but to be honest, that could have been aggravated by the masks! Their genuine care helps you through the days though and my thanks goes to them all! Too many names pop into my head, but I would feel bad if I'd left someone out accidentally so I won't mention anyone in particular.
Obviously the jury is still out, but depending on the final result of my operation, I am truly grateful to Dr Vashisht and Prof Cohen for their exceptional expertise and care!
On the last day I was discharged by Ashling, who I think has a very natural way of making you feel at ease and safe, a leader in her own right and I hope she will help to make this clinic a wonderful place.
