All of the nurses and staff who visited me in my room were lovely, friendly and professional. The only nurse who was actually rude to me and my husband was at the time I was leaving. One of the nurses offered for us to sit in a lounge extension for an unused room as my take home medication was taking so long to organise (we waited almost 3 hours) and I was uncomfortable in my own room as it was a bit cold. Another nurse then came along and told us to leave as this was another patients room and that we were given the wrong information.

Suggested improvements
The bed in ICU was far more comfortable than the one on the fifth floor - I could not get comfortable for my entire stay in the latter bed. Additionally all of the food I received was not very appetising and my husband had to bring me some food from home to eat. Apart from these few things, my stay was very fine and the hospital is very impressive.

As my operation was on a Thursday I was not able to see my consultant on the Saturday or the Sunday but this was communicated to me and I had a chance to speak to him before then. He also advised me of who his colleague would be who would check in with me too which was fine. So I would have liked more time with my consultant but understood it was just the timing and because I was discharged early (which was good!) I didn’t see him on the Monday.

Some of the nurses, especially the one I had on my last day (Angie I think) who really took time and care to help me when I was very uncomfortable.
