There was a very long delay in my procedure being completed and when I was asked to come in. I hadn't eaten since before 10am on the morning of my procedure and went down after 20:00 I was starving. I also didn't have anything to drink from before 14:00 either. I understand that delays happen but I was not informed until I asked why the delay and by that time, it was too late for me to eat or drink anything. I am sure the delay was known in advance and could have been factored in to patients (me) waiting.

Suggested improvements
Above: I do think more communication about delays or not as the case may be could have been better. I was told many times, it wont be long now and it really was ...



Overall, everyone was brilliant but the lady who checked me in on the ground floor.. I have forgotten her name was lovely. I was very nervous and she saw this... even under the mask and was very calming. I didn't get asked how I felt once up on the ward how I was feeling or if I was nervous.
