Overall the service was very good, but it was clear that one of the overnight nurses was not as competently trained or knowledgable as the day shift. On several occasions I needed to repeat requests for things like portable urine bottles and refreshments as they took a long time to be provided. Only on one occasion was there an offer to try and make the bed more comfortable during my stay.

Suggested improvements
In the evening following the operation, night time medication and pain relief was not provided until 23:40 which was very late and I had already switched the lights out in order to try to rest and sleep - medication could/should have been offered earlier than this. It was impossible to sleep due to the noise of the computer cooling fan (which was switched off) and the air conditioning fans (which staff did not know how to switch off), The window blinds self actuated at 05:12 fully opening and closing by themselves further disturbing any opportunity to rest/sleep.

All very good, excellent communication and explanation.

On the whole the service is good and the quality of the food is very good.
