The Cardinal is outstanding! I spent 5 weeks as an inpatient under the care of Dr Wilkins who was brilliant! I got to know ALLthe staff and they were uterly wonderful! Professional , caring, funny and the best people you’d choose to be with. The food was really delicious! I wish they’d cook the onions. The cleaners were so good and such fun. The nurses were brilliant and so empathetic. The gardeners and garden staff kept the place looking alazing. The admin staff were so helpful and friendly. The night nurses were so caring and the day nurses and session leaders brilliant and knew their subjects unlike the priory staff who read out the session notes. I’d have been fired as a teacher if I did that. The founder and his wife created an inspirational and A triple star hospital/ spa hotel. I am so grateful to have been lucky enough to stay. I love the staff, art staff and everyone there A hidden gem that the NHS Warneford in Oxford has dire and immediate need of seeing. I know as I was a patient at the Warneford and it was not good

Dr Cacoullis is a lovely and caring individual. We've seen him over a few years, and he has really supported us as a family with my son's ASD and school anxiety. He really listens, and will go out of his to offer any support we need. We've been lucky he is our psychiatrist.

The Cardinal Clinic is a place of true healing and sanctuary- for those lucky enough to know it and able to be treated there. My time there put me back on track - and changed the course of my life for the better. In many ways it saved my life. Some people see their arrival at the Cardinal as their "lowest point" - but years on - I know truly know that the Cardinal Clinic is the reason why my life has been enabled and I've been able to build such a better future. Immense gratitude to ALL - for the brilliance and gentle care which is consistently offered from every level of the team there. Thank you Cardinal.

The hospital is full of staff who seem to really want to help you. Dr [name removed] is my psychiatrist and he is really great - seems to understand me, and is kind and funny too. I used to attend the Nightingale until I had a dreadful admission. I complained but they bullied me until I had to stop. I am really glad I found the Cardinal clinic as it is the opposite of the Nightingale and I feel that I am looked after and the food is great. A little work on the decor might be good, but not a big problem.

Do not go here if you are an addict. This is not the right care and treatment for any type of addict. I was referred here by my GP for cocaine addiction, depression ect. I did 10 days and didn’t learn a thing whilst in there. All it did was keep me clean for 10 days. Look at specialist drug treatment centres. I’m just about to start my 28 day rehab treatment tomorrow!

Have spent time in the clinic as an inpatient, outpatient and daypatient. Inpatient was generally quite good, wide variety of groups and good food. However nighttime handover was never managed very well - took ages and no support was available during this time. Nurses were good, therapists were not. Many of the groups repeated themselves and some of the therapists were boring and couldn't control a group. Didn't spend long in day patient as it was so awful. Dingy little setup with poor food. I did ask about the food but got told that we could cook our own decent meals at home - surely if we could do that then we wouldn't be in daypatient? Really not worth the £500 out so it is every day. My outpatient treatment was awful. My aftercare from discharge seemed to be forgotten about whilst the psychological therapy was useless. I was suppose to be having emdr but only ever did one session of this in which it was done far too quickly. I then asked for DBT but was told that it was pointless as I had learnt all the skills from inpatient yet when inpatient I was extremely unwell and didn't always take everything in. There is also more to DBT than just skills so extremely disappointed and have now sought help from a different provider.

Communication is extremely poor, the Dr shows a total lack of empathy with regards to correspondence. The initial assessment was great and I was very pleased with how it went and the detailed report. Unfortunately the after Care is poor, the lack of communication, emails are ignored and phone calls are not returned. I’m now looking to move the care to another provider. I had high expectations for this clinic and the reality is they’ve now fallen well below what’s acceptable in my opinion.
