Agency staff don’t work here as often and don’t listen then they stay in the office. Feel frustrated as agency staff say they’re on obs or a break

I would like the agency staff members to be reminded that mobile phones are not allowed in the unit because most agency staff they spend most of the time on their phones.
I would staff I work to interact with me, to communicate with me, most of them stay on their phones.

Because the people on obs have their own staff and we don’t. Even if they play up they still do and we don’t. I’m on generals day and night and they have their own permanent staff and they get to go out three or four times a week and we only have one shot

Engage more, communicate more and get more staff and get rid of obs and free up staff to do more with us and get out more

Racist abuse from a couple of patients. Sometimes quite a bit, and also one patient is racist towards ward staff too. There’s no racism from the staff which is good. Staff ignore him when they’re receiving racist abuse but I can’t ignore it because it’s really offensive for me.
Suggested improvements
Report it, it’s an offence. They should report it higher up. They could move the patient somewhere else.They could challenge the person and tell them it’s out of order too. Another patient here is a Sikh and he gets abused too
