I think it was atrocious that a mental health centre would leave someone in a vulnerable state for 5+ hours. Have written a formal complaint.

I wasn’t happy with my discharge plan. I feel that because I can function and go to work, I’m supposedly not a risk? I was seen by a nurse who wasn’t listening to me. I ended up asking to take a break for five minutes. I was then not seen for over an hour? What more do I need to do?

Input from the patient in their care plan. I would have preferred to have had more understanding of what my discharge plan was. I was just told referrals will be made and to await the call? I’ve heard this before and it’s taken months to even get an initial call let alone assessment. I attended the assessment as referred by my GP to only be referred back to my GP? That makes no sense.

The staff at the urgent care department were very friendly and informative. They were compassionate and listened to why I was not well. They explored all treatment options and were attentive to my needs. I felt heard and understood, even when I was getting upset and struggling to get my words out.

Some of the staff didn't introduce themselves and there were long waits between seeing different clinicians. While of course the staff are all busy, they could reassure service users that they haven't forgotten and check in. However, when any staff was approached for update, every staff member was happy and would reassure.
