From the initial telephone call to book the appointment, right the way through to meeting the doctor and saying goodbye to the receptionist the service was exemplary. Thank you
I've been with the Wall House Surgery for 7 years and usually had a very good experience there. One of my children has quite complex medical needs and Dr Kerr (who we usually see) is always brilliant with him and has sorted out several referrals to other specialists for him.
It can take a while to get a routine appointment (although I like the fact you can book these online to pick the GP and time that suits us best) and in the past I've found appointments are often running late. However, on the only occasion when my son needed to be seen fairly urgently, we were told to come to the surgery straight away and were seen immediately by Lucy, the children's nurse practitioner. Lucy was great at putting my son at ease and assessing his condition, and arranged for him to be transferred by ambulance to the hospital for further assessment. All in all, I found her to be very efficient and caring.
In the last 3 years, i've used this surgery more than i've used any surgery in the last 30+ years! 2 children, 2 fits, 1 serious bout of bronchiolitis and a bit of periorbital cellulitis on the side, and this surgery has been exemplary. I've had many 'emergency' visits to this surgery with my son in the last 6 months due to breathing difficulties. Even when i've called, and said that things are not desperate enough to go to A&E, the receptionists have noted his young age and have insisted that he is triaged. We are usually seen within half an hour, treated to try and stay at home, or referred efficiently to ESH CAU where the staff know we are coming, and have a room/ bed ready for us. I really can't rate the practice highly enough, from the receptionists that are always helpful, to the GP's who always listen to me as a mother, and take my concerns seriously and respectfully. The specialist nurse, Lucie Gamman, is on the ball and fits us into her busy schedule; she has helped us get control of my son's condition so that we no longer have a 4 weekly panic dash to hospital, and he is a much happier child, who is thriving and enjoying life to the full now!
The Gp who seen my son was amazing.
Good joined up care - finalised diagnosis over the phone and agreed prescription- very efficient.
