The doctor was early for my appointment and we agreed on the way forward amicably and with confidence.
Booking face to face appointments is not always easy, with long waits to get through the long queues on the telephone line.
Prescriptions are nearly always ready for collection by the next day.
I have B12 injections every 12 weeks. Shane the male nurse, is always efficient, polite and caring, he rebooks my appointment at the time.
The waiting room was clean and tidy. I have never had an issues with this practice, or it’s Doctors. Always very efficient and caring, with Jo problems getting appointments.
Long waiting times for Dr appt
Getting an appointment is still very difficult. I don’t know if the triage is ineffective - do we need professionally trained staff rather than administrators choosing who gets an appointment and who doesn’t. Or do we have insufficient Doctors for the catchment? Or do we need to properly segregate ‘routine’ appointments that can be pre-booked from ‘chronic’ appointments for those needing frequent support from ‘acute’ appointments where attention is required today. Creating ‘care pairs’ for those with Chronic needs where a GP pairs up with a nurse/support worker could ensure those patients get the support they need but don’t always need to see their GP - thus freeing up GP time.
Receptionist gave advice on course of action to take for recurrent UTI. A telephone consultation was booked when I explained my symptoms and I received a call from Doctor in the afternoon, however I missed the call but a message was left explaining that Prescription for antibiotics had been sent to Pharmacy.
