The surgery rang me and asked me to come in so I didn’t need to make an appointment. . The staff were extremely helpful and the gp was thorough and involved me. Thank you

I wrote a very positive post on the Storrington Village Facebook page, praising the staff and commenting on how fortunate it isthat my GP is Doctor Sherwell. My husband too, is ever grateful for his patience and knowledge. He really looks at one and listens attentively. Also, I like the fact that he addresses me by my first name (as requested by me many years ago. I was amazed to phone the practice at 8.30 and to be given 10 am appointment. I could hear two staff members dealing with patients and they were both helpful and solicitous. I was seen quickly. The practice is bright and clean. The nurses greeted their elderly patients warmly and reassuringly.

The question about a condition is very confusing. I have a long term condition but it is not physical - touch wood - as meds are working so I didn’t know what to answer!

This is not meant as a criticism, I'm sure it's purely down to the number of patients registered with you.

Suggested improvements
The only improvement I think is needed is how long it takes to get through on the phone. I never ring in the mornings as I appreciate that's going to be the busiest time but calling in after 2pm it regularly takes over an hour in the telephone call queue, when I am told I am for example number 6 in the queue I know it will take at least an hour to get through. I don't know if this is due to your telephone system or lack of staff to answer calls but it can be infuriating!!

Thank you for your feedback, and I am sorry that you have experienced these problems. We are aware that there are currently long waits to get through to us on the phone, and that patients are being cut off. It is a long-standing issue that we have tried to resolve with our current phone company but they have been unable to locate the problem. We will be moving to a new phone system by the end of the year that should give all our patients a better experience.
