I popped in to the surgery on Tuesday 17th October to request a PSA test for Prostate cancer, explaining my symptoms. Was told by the receptionist that I would have to see a doctor. The first appointment was 8 days later, 25th. The appointment with the doctor was very thorough, including physical examination etc. I was told to book a blood test with reception. I asked the receptionist for a test and without checking the schedule she said first appointment was Thursday 2nd November. I queried this and was told we’re full up this week. I asked for a n earlier date and was given Tuesday 31 October. I had to push for an earlier appointment, not very good service in my opinion!

I have been to surgery a lot lately and found all staff, be it receptionists, Dr Sherwell or Nicola were very helpful.

The call to get appointments or questions, not the staff but the telephone system can be time consuming and a long wait.

Long waiting times to get appointments. Needed a face to face one and had to wait a week. Not sure around urgent ones, but seems since Covid the wiring times are a lot longer

I find the receptionists really helpful when doctors receptionists have always been known as being impossible to “get through” so really good that the Glebe ones are very helpful. I’ve found the doctors very approachable and not at all difficult or unhelpful. Considering I have knowledge of plenty of surgeries where these things remain an issue, I think that the Glebe is doing very well. Other than the wait times but this I think is an UK / public sector issue not solely with the surgery.

. I like it that if you need care urgently you can get it but also that you can prebook, it makes it so much easier to schedule around work.
