I am not a person to ever admit to needing to see a doctor. So to be palmed off by a receptionist to visit the local pharmacy was an insult.
After buying a product that was recommended to me by the receptionist turned out to be utterly useless my wife phoned the surgery on my behalf and I got an emergency appointment to see a doctor who prescribed an antibiotic. After taking the medication I was violently sick and became delirious and collapsed resulting in being taken to hospital in an ambulance.
It turns out after proper examination that I actually have a chest infection. After being on intravenous drip of antibiotics things have improved dramatically.
The point I am making is I originally called the surgery hoping to see a doctor having told the receptionist I think I need antibiotics only to be told I need to go to the local pharmacy. This is not acceptable. A receptionist should not be making decisions about my or anyones health over the phone.

I found it easier to get an appointment at the surgery rather than by telephone.

I was very satisfied with the very professional receptionists & my doctor. No improvements needed.

Apart from the long wait for the phone to be answered, I cannot fault either the Doctors or Nurses they are excellent.
Suggested improvements
Get more people to answer the phone, when I rang regarding a query I was number one in the queue but still waited 18 minutes to be answered

This was my Dementia Check with Jeanne Campbell and as always she take great care and explains everything to me. She is excellent.

Nothing could be done better Jeanne my Dementia review nurse is absolutely amazing and is 100% supportive
