Service is very good, surgery facilities are excellent, but the wait time for an appointment is too long and the NHS referral process is just so inefficient & wasteful

In my case it was regarding a colonoscopy check up. All the information is in my records. The need for a referral is black & white. Why don't NHS GPs just check the records and then refer these cases without any face to face appointment. This would free up GPs time and improve efficiency as well as reduce overall wait times
