I go in to the surgery now to try to get an appt as the phone messages and system are awful. Generally the receptionists are more helpful F2F.

Suggested improvements
I do wish Glebe would fall in line with other surgeries and enable patients to see any GP with a free slot if you're own GP is not there. I have experience of implementing this in public services having done Lean thinking as a career in the past. If the purpose of a GP surgery is to diagnosis early to get the right treatment first time, then spreading patients around to be seen early should be the focus. This would prevent so many delays in being seen, delayed diagonses and treatments it would also decrease longer term consequences of delays as well as the number of re-attendances, re-touches to the work, repeated phone calls and chasing by patients that receptionists have to firefight. Spreading the load this way would also start to break backlogs. I'm really unsure what the resistance is for this. Phone system messages are too long and the phone regularly cuts you off just as you reach No.1 in the queue.
