19th December 2023

I rang on Fri 15 Dec & was offered appointment on same day (but abroad so couldn’t) & then one on morning of 18th. The receptionist (person who took my call) was thorough checking my symptoms & efforts to deal with them & then empathetic to my condition. Nicola Middleton who saw me was also empathetic and checked me over before prescribing. I didn’t feel rushed yet it didn’t take long.

Suggested improvements
I waited 45 minutes from appointment time to being seen - I completely understand this delay, especially on a Monday morning at this time of year and was very grateful to have been seen at such short notice. I am probably one of those who contributed to this by needing to be seen. (Nicola also apologised). I wonder if there’s some way the Receptionist or the rolling TV/video screen could put a message up to say something along the lines of - bear with us - it’s a busy morning - might need to wait a little. Some practitioners running “x” time behind. If you know it might be 15 or 30 mins etc the knowledge makes it less stressful than wondering - when you are feeling ill anyway. Mask wearing still a good idea for those visiting with coughs & colds - I did but lots don’t.
