I rang the surgery at 8:03 to be told all appointments had gone for that day - how can this be possible when the phone line opens at four? Most people like continual care under the same dr for an ongoing problem. This now seems impossible. If you try to book online there are almost no appointments available. The receptionists try to be helpful but do not always come across as being so - this is the system they represent rather than them personally. The lack of availability of appointments seems to be a type of rationing by inconvenience. To some extent, I have lost confidence in the surgery although not in the doctors that I eventually manage to see. It seems that the system benefits the practice, not the patients.
