Response from Park View Surgery

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, we take patient feedback seriously and seek to make improvements wherever possible. The stairs at our Carnforth branch can cause difficulties for some patients but we always accommodate those who have difficulties downstairs. Our surgery at Milnthorpe has level access throughout the building. A ramp is also available for the front steps at Carnforth. Please make us aware of your access requirements when booking your appointment. We recognise that privacy in the reception corridors is not ideal, which is why we never ask for a reason for appointments made at the desk. We have tried to improve this by installing a ‘privacy strip’ and request that patients wait behind it when other patients are at the reception desk. We offer appointments throughout the day across both our sites including, advance bookable, on the day and telephone consultations. We are working on improving access to all GP sessions by reviewing the scheduling of our ‘on the day’ and ‘advance bookable’ appointments. I am unsure that you mean by not being ‘able to get straight through to receptionist’ as all calls are answered by receptionists. We have one practice telephone number which may be answered at either site and any receptionist can deal with your enquiry. I hope you find this response helpful. Our complaints procedure is available on our website and in our waiting rooms if you wish to make a formal complaint and we will respond to you personally.
