My recent visit to the surgery for a blood test was highly satisfactory. I forgot my form of instruction and was Immediately given a new one from a smiling receptionist. The nurse was lovely and the taking of blood was painless without leaving any bruising whatsoever. A good visit which took no more than ten minutes.
The only way to get an appointment is to call on the same day for what is called the 'acute' appt. Trying just to make an appt for say an on-going problem, and to the doctor which has been appointed to you often means a 3-week wait. This means everyone tries for an "acute" appt, which seems rather defeats the system. Once you do get to see the doctor the service is good, although sometimes you want to discuss more than one thing, but feel that time pressure does not allow this.
Dr Jethwa is absolutely brilliant. She is very thorough and professional in her approach, whilst retaining a pleasant and engaging manner. I feel very lucky to be on her patient list. I just hope I don't have to see her too often though!
The receptionists are extremely patient and helpful. One's overall opinion of the surgery depends on the General Practitioner whom a patient sees.
It can sometimes take three weeks for an appointment to see your chosen doctor but
eveything else is very good....online repeat prescriptions, helpfulness of counter staff etc. Having access to an on site pharmacist is very useful for certain information.
