Trying to get an appt can be tricky - to try for nearly an hour and then find all apps gone very disappointing. I was recommended to go to Crawley drop in centre by the Receptionist. I did state that that seemed ridiculous and when questioned about the reason for my appt- somewhat intimate problem that had escalated , I was then given an emergency appt. Thank God - I' m not a habitual appt maker and believe the Dr knew I should have been there when we met. It is difficult for receptionist and patient and I appreciate that. - maybe a'flag' system associated with each patient , with previous appt attendance, assessed need of the consultation, relevant outcome etc , may help with receptionist assessment for those coveted emergency spots. I'm glad on this occasion I was seen, really glad as my worry on top of the problem increased my blood pressure to a frightening level . Park Surgery in general has always been a positive experience. I prefer that the bowls parking is now inclusive of 9 am onwards alleviating the worry of an early appt over running its time and not wanting to risk a ticket from 10am.
Happy Christmas
It is much easier to get an answer on the phone for an appointment now that you have more staff. Also since you stopped the expensive phone number and have a local number, it is cheaper.
Every one from the doctors down are so helpful.
The only problem is with your doors if you are in a wheel chair or on crutches. Even the banks look after disabled persons better. They have a knob to press to open the door, or it is automatic!
This was just a flu jab.
I saw dr chong recently, she was excellent, gave me the time I needed, was very clear to follow the diagnosis plan, professional and caring. There was only one receptionist when I walked in and she didn't acknowledge me, I generally find reception staff unhelpful and occasionally rude and lacking in empathy. The receptionist that booked my appointment this time however was very friendly on the phone but there was a lack of appointments available and a nearly three month wait if I wanted to see my own doctor.
I've recently used email to contact my doctor / surgery, and found it was the best way to interact with the surgery. This should be encouraged more, as it saves time for both patients and medical staff. The response I received was excellent!! To take that one step further, if an app was made available, now that would make life easier for everyone, you could track prescriptions/ appointments / referals/ results etc, as sometimes its just an answer to a query required, and getting a telephone response is mostly time consuming and that can leave you very frustrated...
