Really wonderful doctors and a good range of ancillary services. But: 1. It takes a very long time to get an appointment (even an appointment to talk on the telephone). I tried for two months and failed to get one with my usual GP or the other woman doctor and then had to wait a further 5 weeks to see my third choice (a man). By the time I saw the doctor my earlier problem had somewhat abated but I had by then developed a new one. They do offer a walk-in quick access service, not necessarily only for emergencies, which cuts across the regular system and I found on my recent visit that my usual GP was dealing with those cases which is why I could not get an appointment to see her myself. I feel the whole system needs to be rationalised. 2. They do not open the doors until just before surgery starts so if you have an early appointment and arrive in good time you can be standing outside on the steps, with no shelter from the elements and nowhere to sit. This is TOTALLY unacceptable especially for sick people. At my recent visit there were 8-9 people waiting outside (some elderly, one with a small child); I got in by using the lift (which is not signposted) and was then soundly berated by the receptionist for coming in five minutes early. Personally I cannot stand without considerable pain (and have difficulty with steps which is why I know about and use the lift). Opening 10 -15 minutes early, even if they do not open the reception desk, should not be a problem, at least people can get inside and sit down. I have complained about this for years, to no avail. 3. Some of their receptionists are very abrupt, bordering on rude, and have no place in such an otherwise excellent practice.
