I picked up my blood forms last week. Made arrangements with North Cambs. Happened to see that one of the blood forms had the word "Fasting". Telephoned the surgery to enquire what exactly this meant., and was told it meant that I should not eat on the morning of the test. When I went to have my bloods taken 30 miniutes ago I was told that it should have been only water allowed and not the Decaf tea ( without milk) that I had drunk at breakfast. I have now had to rearrange another day for this test. If a patient has to fast for their blood test then there should be an explanation given in a written form to the patient. I have wasted a lot of time making arrangements to have this blood test today and now I have to go through a similar practice next week when |i have made another appointment for the test to be done. As you can guess I'M NOT VERY HAPPY>
