Marlborough Surgery
Seaham Primary Care Ctr, St John's Square, Seaham, County Durham, SR7 7JE 4 reviewsReviews
My son hurt his hand a few weeks ago, as he could still move it we decided to wait until the swelling went down, also I knew we'd have to wait several weeks for an appointment. The swelling has now gone down but his finger is a funny shape so I have been trying for over a week to get an appointment. I rang and it rang and rang and rang then eventually someone picked up - and hung up immediately. I rang straight back and it rang once and again, the receptionist hung up. I have tried several more times now and it just rings like they're basically ignoring the phone. It really makes you, as the patient feel like your being a nuisance! I must say however, the doctors (when you do get in) are nice enough just maybe the receptionists need more training or learn to prioritise. In this industry care is a must whether it be making, during or after an appointment.
I went to the surgery on the advice of a pharmacist who said I needed antibiotics for a wound that had become septic - he advised I saw the practice nurse. The receptionist at Marlborough said there were no appointments and I would have to wait till the next day, despite me explaining the importance of a wound becoming septic. She then suggested I go home and she would arrange for the doctor to ring me at home to arrange for me to come straight back to the surgery to be seen. I am 84.
