Share review of Henfield Medical Centre
Michael was completely ignorant of the potential for infection post operatively.
His exact words were ‘Laurence is past the window for infection’.
Laurence went on to have his infection confirmed as Staph. The consultant has advised Staph is common post operations that have involved the plaiting of metal to bone. Both microbiology and orthopaedics exclaimed their surprise at his lack of knowledge and failure to refer Laurence regarding infection.
Michael should have a more thorough knowledge of Staph.
Perhaps, if he was more open and approachable he may have considered getting a second opinion or consulted a doctor. However, he is snappy with patients and gives the impression no one can question him.
It is my opinion that Michael is placing the practices patients at significant risk through unacceptable ignorance.
