Although I know there are great pressures on individual practices I am amazed how organised and calm the Greystone House practice appears. I have been pleased with every doctor I have seen over the last 14 years. Although I am glad we are back under our individual doctor, Dr McGilligan who is, in our opinion, first rate. Only one point to raise... The last appointment I tried to make I couldn't book because the book was full for 7 days ahead. I had to phone at 8.30 on a friday to book an appointment the following friday. I was told to be prompt as the appointments tend to go very quickly. This seemed like trying to buy concert tickets on-line for you favourite band. All was cool and I got my appointment - no trouble. However, I can't believe that this couldn't be improved upon and although I got an appointment - I felt sorry for one of the elderly patients that maybe missed out. This isn't a massive criticism as my needs were, as always, brilliantly catered for. I just can't help thinking this was a bit weird in the internet/telecoms age of today. Not sure if that's helpful or not? Otherwise all very happy thanks.

I am very very happy with the care I get at the surgery the staff are very helpful the doctors are all very caring and understanding I recently suffered a bereavement and the doctor was so good when I phoned and was very upset and could not talk he even made a home visit without being asked which was much appreciated by me and the staff on the phones etc are always cheerful and very helpful also it is always possible to talk to a nurse or doctor if you are worried which puts my mind at rest

Needs improvement - firstly trying to get an appointment; telephone its next to impossible to get through, thankfully they also offer a online booking service, but you will only get doctors appointments, and for 3 or 4 days in advance. Can't book nurse or midwife appts online. Secondly; appointment waiting times. Not once in 4 years have i ever had an ontime appointment. Shortest wait is 25 minutes. Longest (so far) is 55 minutes, and that was for a pregnancy blood pressure test. Needless to say it was sky high as i was seething with anger. Next: Parking - car park was changed last year to be for staff and disabled only, however like 99% of patients i will continue to use the car park until they get their waiting times down. Of the people that do use the pay and display, many end up missing their appointments when finally called as they have to return to their car to pay for more parking. Finally; some doctors are great (Dr Piper is lovely), but Dr Milligan is horrible. Arrogant, patronising, and belittling when you see him about anything personal such as weight loss or 'female' problems. Thankfully have been able to avoid seeing him, though once was the only option, and at that point i decided i'd rather go to A&E and see him.

The issues I had were explained in great detail both to explain what potential problems did not exist and to mollify any inherent lingering concerns I may have harboured.

An excellent surgery. Have been a patient here for almost 40 years. It has moved with the times in every respect including new purpose built facilities. All levels of staff , over the years, have been very helpful and caring. This is very evident still, despite the raft of "extra" duties which doctors in particular have to deal with.
