I have used Dorking Medical Practice for about 9 years. It is staffed by a number of good doctors, though it is not always possible to see your preferred doctor. The reception staff can be a battle as with every other doctor surgery I have used. I have found the doctors to be knowledgeable and attentive to my needs. I have received good care as have other members of my family. My elderly neighbours used the same surgery and they too felt cared for.

I think the practice is well-run and efficient - repeat prescriptions come back quickly and messages get through to the doctors. It is difficult to get a same day appointment, often engaged and then when you do get through all the appointments have gone! I book appointments online now which works really well but may not suit everybody.

My husband returned home from East Surrey Hospital on 10 October last year following a particularly traumatic medical episode. His return home has necessitated a considerable amount of contact with the surgery (including home visits) over an extended period since last October. We would like to record our appreciation of every member of the team at the surgery in South Street for their level of care and assistance. Given the current amount of negative press about GP services etc across the country, it is enormously satisfying to be in a position to heap praise on our GP surgery! Thank you everyone, we really do appreciate your help.

The service from reception is inconsistent - it can be helpful and friendly then other days it is quite short and abrupt. The surgery does not always look clean in public areas due to age. When calling for an appointment it can take up to 2 minutes for someone to pick up and most times after waiting I have been cut off, which is quite rude and frustrating.

Staff are friendly. Time keeping is beyond shocking!!
