Waited all day for a phone call back over something very very important…today being the second day of trying to speak to a doctor… after ringing twice to check we were told we were on the list and they call up until 7.30pm… no call and now 7.42pm….We had a missed call at 5.03… rang back straight away and spent 23mins on hold and we were number 1 in the queue, hung up thinking they’d still ring…. Absolutely shocking service.
I contacted the surgery (Online) on Friday at 8am as I felt unwell. Within 10 mins a text informed me there were no appointments, I don't understand how that can happen when you have to phone at 8am for an appt that day? I went to a chemist and the pharmacist said you sound like you have an infection, Contact your doctor??
I suffered all weekend and than phoned the surgery Mon morning(15th caller). I was told to take a sample in which I did at 8.30.
I was in severe pain(I told the receptionist this). I was told someone would phone me that day.
At 5.30, having heard nothing I rang, to to be told the sample had to be sent off and I could not have any medication. I told the receptionist I was in agony, her reply was ' ring tomorrow' !!! I went to A & E, a 7 1/2 hour wait so so I went to the chemist who was helpful.
I took strong pain killers (thanks to the chemist) and phoned the surgery Wed morning to be told the results weren't back.
I pleased with the receptionist for help, she said I'll email doctor. I said please can a doctor phone me.
Three hours later I get a text from a doctor issuing me with antibiotics,. amazingly the results had arrived within the time of me phoning and the doctor texting me!!
No-one spoke to me, not even a 2 minute call.
The antibiotics have made me feel unwell but I daren't try to contact the surgery again. It was a nightmare
Today we came to the surgery with my son (4yo) who has been very scared of coming to the doctors in the past. I briefly spoke with the doctor before my son’s consult, advising of my concerns and how the consult may go based on previous experience. The doctor was fantastic, she gave advice on how best to deal with the situation, and when my son came in she engaged with him beautifully helping him to relax and making the consult fun and playful, while doing what she needed to do for his care. This is the first time we have had an appointment with a doctor where he has not cried with fear and fought the whole time. We came away with a positive experience with him even saying he enjoyed it.
Thank you so much, I think we no longer need to be concerned about visits.
All very good except I suspect getting through on the phone may be slow but I have no personal evidence for this - I use the Contact Us Online feature.
Despite the NHS getting bad press at the moment I have found Churchfields very responsive - Dr Law in relation to my cholesterol drugs, Dr Morrey with my ear suction and Dr Sarkar with my chest pain referral. All have been prompt and professional - add also Hannah (not sure which one) who responds quickly to electronic enquiries and the receptionist (not sure of name) who helped get me access to my health records.
Whole team are very good ! Is it possible to feed this beck to them ?
Really helpful and friendly staff despite the pressure they are under. We are always dealt with over the phone or in person that day as is appropriate.
Thank you
