I have noticed the possibility of reaching reception by phone has become worse as this year has progressed. When I have finally connected, appointments are often not available and I have then had to go through the same frustrating process again the following day, because appointments are only released on the day. I have sometimes been told in the mornings that afternoon appointments are released at 2pm, so call back and recently when phoning at 2pm, I was told, there are no appointments because they are all released at 8.00am. In recent weeks the phone is usually engaged when previously I would always be placed in the queuing system. I'm assuming this is because the amount of lines has been reduced. One particular day quite recently, I tried phoning on and off all day, but the phone was engaged each time. I then heard a couple of days later that there was a training day at the surgery and someone forgot to leave an automatic message. Of course I don't know if that was true, but as several people experienced the same frustration that day, that was the story going around. From what I experience and hearing of others with similar frustrations, I feel the administrative standards have slipped badly. The Doctors however, do a great job! If Wendy Goodchild would like to contact me to discuss this further please email me so I can pass on my phone number. My feedback is intended to be constructive and helpful and I hope it is received in that spirit. Kind regards
