Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We have contacted our phone supplier as the answering machine is being switched off as far as we are aware, there appears to be a technical problem when the phone is engaged. The lack of appointments; this is a continuous issue in primary care, nationally. The demand for GP appointments has gone up by 47% in the last 5 years. We have 5 GP's. 3 nurses and a Health Care Assistant and are working to full capicity. We continually look at our workload to ensure patient safety, which is paramount; there is only so much we can achieve within the contraints of the working day but nevertheless we are currently reviewing our appointments.
