You can almost always get an appointment on day of phoning as long as you ring at 8am. They say it can be with a doctor of your choice and where possible they do try to accommodate this however it is still very difficult to get an appointment on the day for allocates GP. Whilst all the doctors there are fantastic it’s sometimes helpful to see the GP that knows your full history so that you can explain things more comfortably. I don’t know how best they can try and make sure people get GP of their choice when phoning - I guess it’s just luck on the day but maybe could offer a choice of two because that would ease patients anxiety about seeing different doctors each time.
