It takes a number of phone calls to get through to the surgery. Often holding for 25 minutes or more. At times, after holding, the phone has cut off!! There was one time where I actually went into the surgery- after reopening after restrictions were lifted- and the receptionist said “why didn’t you phone”!. Her manner was rude! Another time I asked for a gp appointment, I asked, if possible on a Monday or Thursday as they are my days off. She gave me an appointment with a nurse on a Tuesday, 3 weeks later! Recently I found out my own surgery- Patford House- had reopened. I went to make a GP appointment as my ongoing problem hasn’t been resolved. I was told they are unable to make go appointments, they have to email the practice manager at beversbrook, then she decides wether or not to arrange a go appointment! Then I should get a text. I initially contacted surgery in May. A nurse phoned me and arranged for blood tests. Then I was told there will be a follow up- I’m still waiting!! The service is very poor. I’m not the only person to feel this way. In Calne there is only one other surgery available . I do appreciate the number of people now living in this area compared to the number of surgeries/ doctors available!!
