I’ve always tried my best not to need the surgery and when I need, I come across with professionals who are unhelpful. This has happened over the last year, from a GP (the last I consulted was arrogant, undermining and sarcastic, and I learned today she was a locum and no longer around). Getting appointments even if over the phone can take a long time, apart from having to wait long time on the phone call. I was informed all GP understand of my condition so anyone could deal with it, but the website used to clearly state their area of interest. I was offered a consultation with a nurse (no offence) but the issue is not that simple. Than a suggestion to see a trainee GP! Can’t stop but feeling fobbed off . I’ve worked for the NHS for decades and I have private health insurance exactly to avoid using the services. However, there are issues which need to go via the Surgery.

Suggested improvements
For starters, offer GP consultation with special interest as I had about 1 year ago. Quicker answer to phone calls. The idea of being called any time of the day doesn’t suit me as I work with patients and colleagues, it would be rude for me to leave them to answer a personal phone call, many times I would not be able to answer the phone at all. Good manners? I am not an abuser of the system and should be treated with respect. In fact if I was treated as I was, there would be certainly be a complaint to PALS.
