Share review of Beversbrook Medical Centre
In common with many of your complainants I wasted much time trying to get through to Beversbrook, only to listen to endless recorded messages but never a human voice. (My wife even tried to make an appointment for herself in person, only to be sent away with a flea in her era by the rude receptionist.). I have had two ticks bites on my leg for the past month and, living in an area populated by deer, am worried about Lyme disease. Only after sending a rude email to the practice manager did I eventually see a nurse (Hannah Waters who was helpful and sympathetic) but am still having to wait a further two weeks for a blood test. It will then be approx. two months since I was bitten and, given that this can be a life-changing disease, I am incandescent with rage that Beversbrook should be so innefficient and uncaring. I assume that the two receptionists at Beversbrook answer the telephone, yet while I waited for half and hour in the reception area, the phone never rang and so must be in permanent answerphone mode.Whilst I appreciate that Covid has affected the NHS, there are still, strangely enough, other patients who require care and attention.
Why is it impossible to speak to a person at the surgery? Why should we first have to fill in a stupid form online? Where are all the doctors? Who runs the surgery and should take responsibility for this mess?
