I saw a practitioner nurse when I visited the surgery. This is a great idea in theory as it's easier to get an appointment quickly for a straightforward condition. However getting a prescription proved problematic. I was told it would take a couple of hours for the prescription to be sent through to the pharmacy. This is not ideal when you feel unwell so I asked a family member to collect it for me. I'm glad I did as it took an hour of going between the pharmacy and the surgery to finally get it sorted out. The prescription had not been sent to the pharmacy and so after speaking with reception and no one really knowing what was going on it turned out the doctor hadn't even written it yet! It would greatly improve care if the prescriptions were completed promptly. When you're feeling unwell the last thing you want to do is spend an hour trying to sort it out.

Response from Beversbrook Medical Centre

Thanks so much for this feedback - which is invaluable for helping us to improve our services. I am sorry that organising your prescription took longer than expected and appreciate that when you are feeling unwell a delay like this is the last thing you want to have to deal with. This certainly needs streamlining, I agree. Thanks to your feedback we can now investigate this matter and reflect on what we could have done to have made this less of a hassle for you. It would be very helpful to have your input into this process so we can learn from your experience and I would therefore be grateful if you could contact me at emmybutcher@nhs.net at your convenience. Once again thanks for your feedback and I look forward to hearing from you. Kindest regards - Mrs Emmy Butcher, Managing Partner.
