2 weeks in a row I have called to make an appointment at 8.30 when the phone lines open and no appointments available and there have been anything from 27 to 72 people in the call queue

Appreciate high demand for GP appointments. I phoned 3 consecutive days last month at 8:30am for same day appointment but for this particular thing I wanted a female doctor, each time I phoned dead on 8:30 I was no 23 and no 26 in the queue until the final day I decided to try and phone at 8:15 and was 8 in the queue. However no app. remaining with female GP. This is not a complaint at all, but just feedback as requested, Reception staff have always been fantastically helpful with me which please pass onto them as appreciate they deal with many rude patients daily. On my last call the reception lady was so helpful and given it was a busy time for them answering phones she listened and made me feel valued. She suggested I made an appointment 2/3 weeks ahead with a female GP, however as I was struggling with symptoms decided to pay for a private appointment with a gynaecologist in the meantime. Since then I have seen the female GP and have a further appointment booked. I do hear so often of negative stories it’s surgeries nowadays however have always found all GP’s and reception staff to be extremely helpful at Middleton surgery. Thank you.
