Having moved to Yapton recently it is very rewarding to come to AMG to see how a model survey practice should be run. Well done to all the team involved from front of house to all the medical teams and back room staff and cleaners. So glad we have such a well organised local surgery. We were also impressed with the Middleton surgery. Great to have a back up place so local.

Phone line is always busy, sometimes holding on for 20 minutes or more, depending on time of day!

Always a long wait to get a call answered recently we gave been cut off two times. It is easier to drivevto the surgery and go to reception if we need an appointment.

Suggested improvements
Answer the telephone quicker or devise a method where we can book an appointment on line. We know that there are patients who will book unnecessarily, maybe you allow initial booking on line where a receptionist can call suspected fake appointments and triage them?

I have phoned and been on hold for 29 minutes and 5th in queue. Then cut off and had to start all over again !!

Show on website when and which doctors are on duty on a calendar. This would allow non-urgent appointments for long term chronic conditions to be seen by same doctor (as reasonably as allows) giving patient continuity of care. Instead of Receptionist triaging all calls, relaying them to doctor, doctor getting back to receptionist, receptionist then talking to patient, why not all doctors triage for half hour at 8:30 to prioritise appointments and cut out back and forth between receptionist and Dr. Please note receptionist do an amazing difficult job with professionalism , this is not a criticism of them or Dr s, just a suggestion to consider??
