It is not easy to get an appointment on the phone. I usually ho yonthe surgery. The "on the day" appointment system is ridiculous. I saw a young locum Dr who had yo fill in an online form for a referral appointment for me. She muttered, and l didn't know if she was talking to me or not. Needs sort on patient interaction! She wrote a referral letter also for an orthopaedic consultation which has 2 factual errors in it. I have NOT had the symptoms for only 3 months, that is when l had the x Ray. Also, the x Ray report says moderate to severe degeneration. I felt she disregarded my pain. So, to sum up, receptionists doing their best with the system, but l feel personally, reluctant to even try to get an appointment. Makes me feel like a nuisance, so people like me just try to self medicate znd put up with problems .....until it is too late.

Suggested improvements
It would be marvellous to have a gp who knew you personally!
