I have no problem with the quality of care once you get an appointment. I saw Fiona, a nurse practitioner who was excellent. The problem lays with the booking system. The surgery opens at 08.00 but the computer booking system doesn't open until 08.30. If you phone at 08.30 as is requested you are put in a queue which by the time you get referred to the desk all the appointments are gone. My husband actually went along to the surgery as I was waiting in queue and it had only moved one in 20 minutes. He got me an appointment but they didn't inform him who we were seeing. I don't object to seeing a nurse practitioner because I know they are highly skilled and can prescribe but ai think we should be informed.

Suggested improvements
Can there not be some kind of triage system by a health professionaI who could then make an appointment with the appropriate health professional. I object to discussing confidential matters with the desk staff . Could there also be an online booking system. You could have a set of questions to answer to decide how urgent and when and where to book. I realise there are a high percentage of elderly residents in the area that might not like this but I am nearly 70 and would welcome this to save time. It would have to run along side with a telephone service so it caters for all One more thing can you please change the American voice on the waiting line. It makes me think that our wonderful NHS has already been taken over!
