Because it takes so long to get through there are never any same day or urgent appointments available. You signpost every time to the pharmacy as the first point of contact, regardless of the nature of your illness. When you do eventually get to speak to someone the first available appointment is weeks ahead (anything from 4 to 6 weeks from experience).

Have more appointments & be able to see the same doctor at each appointment.
