The Mitcham Medical Centre.

I had an appointment on the 27th Aug 2015 and was told I would receive an urgent referral to the local community mental health team. The doctor told me that the letter would be sent the very next day on the 28th due to the nature of my situation. Two weeks later, and I am still waiting for the letter to be sent by the surgery to obtain the referral. Meanwhile, my mental health deteriorates daily. Each time I call them or go in person to the surgery to ascertain progress, I am told something different. Today I was told that the medical secretary only works part-time hence the delay - this is unacceptable and completely different from what I was told previously. I made an appointment to go in yesterday and was assured that it would be dealt with. The doctor said she would call me that evening to confirm and I did not hear from her - prompting another call from me to find out what was going on. Still no progress, and when I called again today, it still had not been sent. An urgent referral taking 2 weeks? Do I have to slit my wrists to get anything done? The medical receptionists haven't a clue and seem to be there just to act as a barrier to speaking to anyone with any knowledge. I have lost count of the number of calls I have made - I even got my Occupational Health department at work involved. if they cannot deal with my query, they tell me they cannot access my electronic notes - I have been told this on 5 occasions this week. This is not the first time I have experienced such shoddy care at this practice. I had an appointment with a locum about 12 months ago who sat there and played with her iPhone and replied to texts during our consultation.
