Genuinely rave about this GP Surgery. I did an online e consult on a Sunday morning and I had a call back within 15 minutes to ask if I wanted to speak to someone the same day. I said it was not urgent so they could call me back on a weekday, I was called at 9.03 on Monday morning - impressive turn around time! I was offered an appointment within a week (non urgent vaccination appointment). I arrive at the GPs a few minutes early, it’s clean and quiet. I sign in using the iPad on the wall. My doctor (Dr Philippou) comes and collects me from the waiting room. Her office is lovely and she has the vaccine ready to go and I’m in and out in a couple of minutes! Genuinely I cannot complain this is exactly how primary care should look in the UK. I know this is not the regular experience so I’m very grateful!

Very sad that we can only request a non emergency appointment via a web form and nobody actually calls you back to book an appointment. Very stressful and unprofessional.

Outstanding consult with Dr. Nikita. She was clear, very communicative, thorough and highly professional. Reception excellent. Engaging, warm, professional, very efficient.

I have been with Amwell Practice since I was a kid and honestly, the service is awful and keeps getting worse. Extremely unhelpful receptionists, if you are lucky enough to get past them, the odds of getting a good doctor are 50/50. I understand the NHS is stretched but if you are dealing with people, especially in need of help so there is still a level of personable service needed.

Suggested improvements
  • Useful receptionists. Being able to pre book appointments like the doctor asked and advertised on their website. Treat people like people with respect. You'd expect better customer service in any shop so why can they treat patients (people in need) the way they do. This doesn't apply to all doctors there, just some and the receptionists.

Great service, I’ve booked online and managed to get the vaccines even if I was a bit late.

  • I remember having a bad vitamin D deficiency last year after some blood tests, and no one followed up on that. Getting a bit more on the prevention side would not create any harm, and might result in healthier patients and less overall costs for the NHS - if anyone really cares about that. More doctors for urgent appointments, because seeing a GP might take far too long time someone. Yearly routine checks works be great. Maybe for the reception desk to have a glass that the receptionist could get a bit of privacy in their phone calls with the patients and not being too exposed?

I have experienced very high quality responsive and sensitive care during a year of physical and mental health challenges. All professionals that I have encountered either at the surgery or over the phone have been patient and helpful.

  • It’s sometimes hard to get an appointment but it’s a busy practise and with the care and service at such a high level, it’s no surprise there is such high demand.

The nurse that saw me was over the top friendly and, most importantly, competent. I usually have a very hard time with bloods, but she was super fast and efficient.

  • The receptionist asked me a question, then looked away as I answered. Then apologized and asked me the same question. She also couldn’t find my appointment on file initially.
