Alex was the Physio for the first 4 months of my post-op rehab after an ACL reconstruction as well as a few sessions prior to the surgery
He's very clear when explaining what specific muscles and exercises I need to be working on each session and was able to give estimates on each step in the recovery.
He listened whenever I had queries or worries with the recovery and put me at ease with his excellent knowledge of the recovery.
I also have a recurring lower back issue which Alex was able to give me quick exercises to help relieve.
I would highly recommend Alex.
Alex Parford is the person who has managed to take me out of my injury hell and given me an opportunity to fully enjoy some of my favourite activities again. Due to his knowledge, dedication and ability to assess and determine the best solution for every situation, we have managed to work through all of the issues that I have had. These issues started many years ago with a ruptured ACL and meniscus damage that weren't treated for many years which lead to compensation problems.
Alex put the focus on flexibility and strengthening to increase my mobility. He has used many elements for various techniques including FRC and is constantly updating his repertoire. It's not just the physical side but the mental side that Alex manages to incorporate into his overall treatment style. Without his encouragement & motivation, maybe I wouldn't be on the path to being the best that I can be.
For the longest time, I didn't understand what it was like to not have some kind of knee pain. It so strange to be pain free that I can't believe how good and how different it feels. I'm going to keep working with Alex to make sure that I continue to progress and improve my wellbeing. I'm grateful to him for helping me to find a new lease of life.
I would highly recommend seeing Alex if you have had a long or short term injury problem or want to improve your wellbeing. He can do so much to help you. Give yourself a chance to enjoy doing the things that you thought weren't possible because of your injury issues.

Alex keeps up with the latest research and has a great approach to his work. He is very methodical and thorough in his assessments. Due to Alex's regular input, I am making really good progress in my weekly swimming and yoga classes: I have much more strength, endurance and flexibility.
He has a positive outlook and is continuing to help me to achieve some personal exercise goals.
My ITB flared up whilst doing an Olympic distance triathlon as part of my training for a half Ironman. With only about 6 weeks to go for the half Ironman I thought it was best to get some help to get the problem sorted. Alex knew straight away how to tailor my exercises to loosen the ITB. Within a week my knee felt a lot better and with some tailoring of my exercises through out the weeks I managed to complete the race without any pain and in a much better time than I had expected. Thanks Alex! :)
I sprained my ankle a month before running an ultra-marathon. Alex's treatment was very effective, as time was against us.
He's very clear when explaining what he's doing and why, what the patient must do during the recovery process and how to prevent future injuries.
Following his advice and doing the exercises he recommended me, my ankle was fixed on time.
He also empathizes with the patient and in my case; he gave me a boost of confidence before the race.
It's the second time he helps me with an injury and I'll choose him again if I need a physio.

Alex qualified from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2012 and proceeded to work for a charity in the south of the country before returning up north to work in St Helens NHS trust for 6 months. During this period he worked in a number of areas but musculoskeletal was always his main area of interest.
It was from here that Alex moved to work for Sale Sharks rugby team where he originally started working with the junior academy. After one season he changed roles to working with the senior academy and first team. He worked for the club for two years and in which time he was part of a medical team that had the lowest injury rates in the premiership.
In the last four years Alex has completed a number of physiotherapy courses to help further develop him as a physiotherapist. He works very much as a manual therapist but enjoys spending time using his rehabilitation knowledge to ensure his patients can return to full function.
