Helen, the Optometrist explained the eye test procedure in a friendly professional manner. Lisa, the Dispenser was a great help in recommending which frame is suitable for me. I have no hesitation in recommending Boots, Wimborne for eye care.

Absolutely the worst experience and transaction I have ever encountered! Boots Opticians Wimborne, are really Wimborne Optical Ltd - a franchise of Boots Opticians, and it seems like Boots don't have any say in how they operate their business or the services they provide. Trying to complain to Boots is impossible, as theit prosedure is simply refer the case back to the franchise manager, who simply don't seem to care about their Customers' Consumer Rights or satisfaction! I was charged £500 for a pair of glasses in advance, and it has been 3 and a half months and I still don't have a decent pair of glasses on my hands. We came in to Boots Wimborne for a eye test for my husband as my Opticians - Optique 2000 couldn't fit him in at the time. Steff Littlewood, Boots Optitians Wimborne Practice manager managed to persuade me to order glasses from them as first, after checking my glasses she said that it seems like Optique 2000 supplied me fake cheap lenses as apposed to expensive, high index lenses by Essilor, and second, they Boots Optician can provide me with the latest cutting technology Silhouette Frames and lenses package. When I pointed out that The Silhouette lenses seem to have much worse index, Steff assured me that they would look great as they will be chamfered in a certain way to make them look thin. Also Steff explained us that the Lenses Index is an actual width in centimetres, which I knew was wrong as the index refers to the density of material, but unfortunately she got me so excited about this amazing, BEST ON THE MARKET new lenses, that her incompetence didn't alarm me enough and I went ahead and placed the order. To cut long story short the glasses came back looking like a pair of binoculars, with the lenses twice the thickness of my old ones. They tried to rectify this by sending my frame to some third party provider that they have never dealt before to be fitted with the Nikon lenses this time. The glasses came back and initially looked acceptible, so I collected them and was happy that the 2 months waiting time was at last over, but unfortunately the nightmare was only beginning! The second pair of glasses Boots Opticians Wimborne supplied me with made me dizzy, I felt like I was going cross-eyed every time I was looking at something further away and I couldn't see through the top half of the glasses and in about two weeks of desperately trying to get used to them, I took them to another reputable, private Optician, who checked the glasses on the lensometer and confirmed that the lenses Boots provided are placed incorrectly (off centre) into the frames and are of extremely poor quality and that's what makes me feel dizzy, cross-eyed and nauseous. I took the glasses back to Wimborne Optical (Boots Opticians Wimborne) and they refused to accept the glasses back and refund me my money, so that I could get myself a new pair of glasses elsewhere. At that point it has been 3 months since they charged me £500 and I am still wearing my old glasses of 2 and a half years with my prescription changed 1 dioptre. They are insisting to try and put it right yet again! I tried to complain to Boots Opticians but it is useless as they are a franchise and are not accountable to Boots. The Franchise managers are insisting on the try and rectify by remaking the glasses, refusing to accept the fact that this particular opticians are simply incompetent and are unable to give a service of reasonable care and skill. I now filed a case with Citizens Advise and notified my credit card provider. It is very frustrating to have to chase my hard earned money and irrespective of the outcome, nothing will return all the wasted time and emotional distress! THE BOTTOM LINE IS: IF YOU ARE AFTER A £10 EYE TEST AS AN EDUCATIONAL TRIP FOR YOUR CHILDREN, THEN MAY BE BOOTS OPTICIANS WIMBORNE WILL DO, BUT IF YOU ARE AFTER A PAIR OF DECENT GLASSES THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO RELY ON FOR YOUR VISION EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE, STAY CLEAR OF THEM, UNLESS YOU WANT TO FIND YOURSELF IN A LEGAL BATTLE!
