The Optometrist was thorough and knowledgeable. I was very impressed.
Rachel was doing the eye test and she was very nice.
I was running slightly late and was trying to telephone the Opticians to rearrange the appointment. There was no answer. On arrival I was treated very rudely by someone who told me I had missed my appointment and I would need to rebook. I stated this was what I was trying to do. I finally managed to do so, before curtly being told "MAKE SURE YOU COME BACK AT THAT TIME" - that is, the time of the rearranged appointment. I did so and they were running late. It seems they are allowed to run as late as they like but I am not allowed to be late by even a few minutes.
My visit took almost an hour which was a lot longer than I had anticipated. 1 of my tests needed to be repeated which accounted for some of this additional time. But it would be good to make clear to people how much time they should allow for appointments.
Optometrist was very nice and very detailed examination. But at the end I was asked for payment when I had booked what I was led to believe through a direct email approach was a free eye examination as part of a national eye health campaign. The assistant manager became involved in the discussions which ended at no cost to myself but left a sour taste.
I had a great appointment. The optometrist was professional and excellent. She was helpful, explained everything every well. The Assistant who helped me with my frames and lenses could not have been more helpful.
I felt very well looked after at this appointment.
