Share review of Boots Opticians Wimbledon - Centre Court Shopping Centre
The staff were friendly but coordination/organisation of the appointment was poor.
During the field tests the optometrist Ian came and got me because they were taking too long to complete. I was assured that they would be finished off after the tests with the optometrist.
Ian was professional and informative - no complaints here.
I was then told to wait for someone who would complete the remaining field tests. After a short wait Ian asked reception again for someone to come and do the remaining tests.
Being an attentive chap and as nobody was forthcoming he did the tests himself.
I had to redo the puff test because for some reason the results had not been recorded during the pre-appointment session with the staff member (non-optometrist) - not a particularly pleasant test to have to repeat.
Ian did not seem particularly proficient with the testing machines. It started to get a bit silly (chin rest moving up and down in perpetuity) so I said that I would come back another day to finish the tests off.
I appreciate that Ian was doing his best to provide a good service - the intention was evident.
From a customer perspective I was surprised that Ian had to take matters into his own hands given the number of staff milling around. But I have no experience of running an opticians so can't make an informed judgement here.
