The whole experience was really good, I heard Sam with another customer and felt he was extremely friendly and it was nice to here his personal touch with his customer, Store layout was good, even if a little tight, plenty of choice of mens frames. Felt a little like I was in a chain with the pre tests as waiting for machines. Also would of expected Boots to be more digital e.g. I pads etc rather than pen and paper.
I popped in on the off chance that boots could help me. My prescription had changed at my last contact Lense check just before my delivery of contact lenses was delivered from the reward scheme, therefore I was sent my old prescription. Natalie C was very helpful and phoned the reward scheme for me and arranged for my new prescription to be sent out for me. She even managed to arrange for the practice to give me a couple of pairs of contact Lenses to tie me over until my delivery arrived! Full credit to Natalie, as she saved me from wearing my awful glasses to a wedding that night!
My appointment was running late and it would have been nice to have warned in advance.
I had good advice in choosing new glasses
I was disappointed that I was not able to use my works voucher (up to £70) towards some glasses.
They told me I have a very mild need for glasses but still recommend I use glasses for computer and reading as I work in front of a screen for 9 hours a day. The voucher was declined as it was not just for computer wear. It was declined because I mildly need glasses also. I find this very disappointing I could not use the voucher towards some glasses to help. I was willing to pay the extra £150 towards my glasses
In the end I have decided not to buy any and continue to work without as I feel they were trying to get me to pay for full price.
I shared this with them and they simply apologised.
I have recently had an eye test which resulted with 2 new pairs of glasses, one was to wear permanently, the second pair were more specialist for working all day at a computer. After picking both pairs up and trying them I felt both were not correct. The pair for wearing permanently I didn't see the point. I had spent some serious money and was not happy.
Went back for a second appointment to resolve the issue and all the team were fantastic, Katie the Optomitrist (Assistant Manager) and Danny/Ged who explained everything to me. Nothing was not too much trouble, Katie did a full examination again and off the back of this changed the lenses in both sets of glasses.
I cannot praise the staff at boots opticians, Meadowhall enough and will be going back and will recommend them 100%.
