The staff are always lovely, helpful, approachable. On this occasion the gentleman who looked after both myself and my daughter after the eye test was excellent throughout. So was the lady who came and just looked over our prescriptions before they were processed. The Optometrist, Ian Leedham while obviously professional, knowledgeable etc personally I did not feel comfortable and at ease with him like I always have with all the other Optometrists I've had at Boots. I don't think he made eye contact with me even once and I felt he spoke quickly and while not facing me was difficult for me to hear. In my opinion I felt it was like "going through the motions" not connecting with me personally. I felt very uncomfortable at the beginning of the eye examination and felt stupid at one point when I thought he had asked me to put my glasses on and he had obviously not as when I said sorry and explained he said he had not done so. Also when I said things were blurry more than once (I say what I feel and think, I have that right) he said he was aware it would be blurry that wasn't what he was looking at during that point of the test. I feel he is a perfectionist and has a low tolerance/not greatly tactful if his exact questions aren't answered how he would like them to be. To be honest I started getting anxious and felt I was randomly guessing when comparing the dots on the red/green screen. I didn't feel I could not give anything but a clear, precise answer which can lead to you guessing a bit. I did become very anxious and I have a cough at the moment and felt very uneasy and couldn't stop coughing. However he did say was I ok and that he would offer me water but the water wasn't good. I had left my Brita Filter with my daughter which he said I could go and get. He did say I should feel comfortable and it was fine to go and get it which I did. He also was polite when I thanked him and said it was a pleasure. While he was speaking about the test he was filling in the prescription all the time. Last time the glasses themselves were explained thoroughly to me by the optometrist, ie lenses, frames etc. This prescription was completed and his recommendations were not discussed fully with me ie thin lenses, Platinum Plus but just ticked by the Optometrist. I would prefer to not have this gentleman again and will request accordingly when I next have an eye test.

Can't really fault the service Darrah was more than helpful, very thorough and jovial. We were kept informed as the clinic was overrunning a bit,but not a huge problem. The only improvement I'd suggest is a wating area a bit more remote from the "action" , there's a lot of toing and froing ,whilst you're waiting ,also the seats aren't the most comfortable and in a direct line with a main entry door to the mall, making it a bit drafty at times.
