I had an annual check on7/4 at Boots Castle Mall Norwich. I was told no change in prescription. 2weeks later decided to buy polarised sunglasses, looked at my prescription to discover no reading prescription included( I have varifocals). Bus into city to query only to discover optician had not recorded this on the computer or paper records. Also he had dated my prescription for June! Apologies given and advised to have re test. Waited 2 more weeks for suitable appointment, turn up and am told they were doing Pre test checks, pointed out I didn't need these as only having retest. Was told that 'if they had known this' they would have told me to come 15mins later! They made the appointment...confused! So sat and waited, saw lovely optician who changed my distance prescription slightly and confirmed my reading prescription. Great I'll get my sunglasses, asked if they would match specsavers offer of frames£69, plus polarised lenses, £60 and free varifocals as gesture of goodwill. I was offered free varifocals but as the cheapest frame was £90 plus £70 for polarised lenses, I declined. It has taken 3 visits to get an accurate prescription which is pretty poor. Even though you couldn't match specsavers prices the offer of money towards my bus fares would have been appreciated or an equivalent amount of boots points. I sincerely hope the failure of the original optician to complete an accurate test and records is thoroughly investigated. I'm afraid I have now lost faith and will look elsewhere.
