The optometrist was the most courteous, friendly and delightful person I have ever had the good fortune to meet in my history of eye care.
Completely professional, had charisma that portrayed total competence and expertise.
Had the patience and good grace to explain my results and reassure me.
Optician was very good with my son and explained things really well
The trainee was poor, didn't even bother to clean a test set of lenses so I could fully evaluate the coating. She also didn't explain the pricing clearly. When passed to the senior it was better but I didn't have his undivided attention. His work then was double checked. Also I was left waiting and uncertain of who was dealing with me after being passed to the floor staff by the optician. I know they were busy but it could have been handled better. The whole process took 2.5 hours, which I think is far too long.
Eye check was carried out very thoroughly and the optometrist explained the reason and use of each test and answered queries accordingly.
Usually I am a little nervous about going to the optician, however the optometrist I saw on this occasion was a complete rock star and gave me the most positive experience I think I've ever had. He was extremely courteous, answered all of my questions patiently and comprehensively, seemed genuinely interested in my concerns and came up with a number of helpful recommendations at the end of the consultation. The sight test itself was very thorough and he was also extremely reassuring about my eye health. The member of support staff who originally welcomed me into the store and performed my eye health checks was also very polite and professional. The only very minor negative is that the system had me down as a new patient whereas I have been going to that store for several years now, however my records were available on computer so that did not affect the service that I received. I have no hesitation in recommending this branch of Boots Opticians.
